SING J LEE 李承禧
Sing J. Lee is a Hong Kong British writer and director.
Born in Manchester and raised in Wrexham, Lee’s early success as a musician would later inform his approach to filmmaking.
Honoured by BFI Future Film Awards in 2011 and recognised as one of BBC’s Best of the North, Lee was commissioned by the British Council to adapt A Midsummer Night’s Dream as a sci-fi short film.
Over an international career, Lee has built a reputation for a distinct, genre-bending visual language and intimate, character driven narratives. His collaborations with celebrated artists include Donald Glover, Raye, Zayn, and with Migos on their 2018 NBA All-Star anthem "Stir Fry”.
His extensive music and commercial work with Pharrell, Jackson Wang, Teyana Taylor, and The Killers has earned accolades from Cannes Lions, Clios, AICP, and VMAs.
Named as one of Variety’s Top Ten Storytellers to Watch in 2019, Lee was later selected as a BAFTA Breakthrough Fellow.
Lee’s directorial feature debut, The Accidental Getaway Driver, premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, where he won the Directing Award for U.S. Dramatic.
